Luxury real estate in Spain has grown in demand in recent years as more overseas buyers discover how Spain offers a lifestyle that is both modern and up to date, with a slower pace of life than other European countries and far less stress. It’s a wonderful place to call home or to buy a second home to enjoy holidays.
There are plenty of outstanding places around the country to investigate, but one area that is worth looking at if you prefer a warmer climate, is the Costa Blanca. This stretch of coastline, and more Javea, offers a healthy microclimate recommended by the WHO. The town also provides stunning sea and mountain views, pleasant winters, and plenty of excuses to get outside and enjoy the summer sun. Javea is just over an hour’s drive north of Alicante airport.
If you are looking at luxurious properties, you’ll need to keep your eyes open for unique features that make these homes stand out above the rest. First, of course, is the location. Properties in the luxury real estate market in Spain typically overlook amazing scenery. Javea offers stunning beachfront and Mediterranean views, allowing you to enjoy a beach resort lifestyle almost all year round.
So, where to look? We recommend you check out the urbanisations close to the Arenal beach. These include Portichol, La Siesta, Balcon al Mar, Costa Nova, and Granadella. These suburbs allow you to live within easy walking distance of Javea’s best beaches but are also peaceful and quiet.
When buying a luxury property, before viewing, you should ask all the normal questions, such as how many bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, the size of the kitchen, garden, etc. It is pointless going to view a property if it does not have the space you need to house your family comfortably.
Luxury real estate in Spain comes in several forms. You may want a beautifully appointed penthouse apartment with sea views, close to all the shops and other amenities. Or perhaps you prefer a sprawling villa, perfect for entertaining, that affords sea views with a rural atmosphere. Whatever you choose, it’s essential to look at how well the home suits your specific needs. There may not be much point in buying a huge home if you only have yourself and a partner to accommodate unless you love entertaining.
If you are buying from overseas and want to buy a place without seeing it in person, make sure you get as much information as possible. Ask for videos and panoramic images, check it out on Google maps, and use people you know very well and trust to assist you. If possible, send a representative on your behalf, who will relay every detail of the property to you.
Remember, even if the home doesn’t have all the luxurious features you require, such as smart appliances, underfloor heating, a gym, an infinity swimming pool, etc., you can always add these after securing the home as your own. The most critical issue to consider is the location and that the property has the space and permissions to develop as you desire.
